Secure Chat v 2.4.1: Connectivity Hotfix

[fa icon="calendar"] Dec 27, 2018 1:28:39 PM

The latest Secure Chat hotfix is intended to correct the infinite reconnection loop observed in some instances when the connection to the server has been interrupted.

When the application was losing its connection to the server, the reconnection algorithm would automatically "kick in", trying to establish the said connection. The user would observe the infinite reconnection loop on a UI level, however, what was happening in the background is that the application would cease trying to reconnect to the server, causing the user to become offline.

Our engineers were able to successfully reproduce the bug and adjust the application's reconnection algorithm in order for it active for the connection with the server to be established.
