The latest Secure Chat hotfix addresses the issue with disappearing messages when the For Your Eyes Only (FYEO) and Time to Live (TTL) modes are not enabled.
Disappearing Messages Issue
Thanks to the feedback from our users we were able to catch a bug when messages were sometimes deleted after a few seconds on both the devices even when the For Your Eyes Only (FYEO) and Time to Live (TTL) modes were not enabled.
Our R&D team was able to successfully reproduce the bug after the extensive internal test runs and determined that the root cause of this behavior was that the subsequent messages were sometimes incorrectly marked for deletion by the system after users were exchanging messages in either FYEO or TTL modes.
We have adjusted the application's algorithm for accurate history mode handling which ensures reliability when sending and receiving regular text messages.
