Secure BlackBerry

Montréal, Canada - July 12, 2016

Secure Group just announced the new version of their flagship Secure BlackBerry products. Secure BlackBerry has gone a long way in development; however new important changes are added that affect the device enrolment and subscription activation process.

These modifications are part of the entire redesign for smooth experience of both the end users; and Secure Group’s resellers.

And that’s not all: as part of this Release, Secure Chat is given upon request to end users for free.

  • New activation flow for Secure Blackberry in LAS
Previously with the purchase of a Secure BlackBerry subscription, the service had to pass through few “preparatory” stages before the end user could start using it. This caused some hassle for both distributors and end customers.

This flow was “balancing” between BlackBerry network specifics and the ways their concepts for privacy differed from Secure BlackBerry. Because of this; and Secure Groups vending model, the distributor had to purchase the so-called BlackBerry Encrypted Email (BEE) subscription. This process involved creating the user’s login account. But that alone would not allow an end user to even test the Secure BlackBerry: their distributor had to buy an activation (and a BES-capable SIM card for that matter); and link it with that user’s BEE subscription and username.
  • Preactivation instead of Encrypted Email
With that taken into account, Secure Group added an alternative to the existing activation flow which replicates that of our other flagship product: the Secure Phone. To start with, BEE subscription is completely removed: instead the Secure BlackBerry “preactivation” is provided as an option to have an existing account the distributor could link the BlackBerry activation with.
  • Secure Chat on Secure Blackberry is now Free
Previously Secure Chat was available on Secure BlackBerry as a separate service subscription. This is no longer the case; and everyone can now have it on their devices (unless an Application policy restriction applies). Offering it for free allowed the removal of a separate account for accessing Secure Chat (customers could not log in using their Secure BlackBerry account). So now this is changed: a single user account is enough to login to Secure Blackberry and all services provided with it.

Final words

The concepts incorporated into that new flows for ordering a Secure BlackBerry; and getting rid of double subscriptions gives the user more power; and relieved the ordering process for the distributor. These changes further display the dedication of Secure Group to better relation with end clients, mediated by a global network of resellers; in the way that everyone benefits from the improvements added to some of the world’s most robust communication privacy products.
